My WOR story started because Joe convinced me that we needed to try the new CrossFit gym in town. At our first class, we were un-lucky enough to meet “Annie”. She and I did not hit it off and I was quick to decide CrossFit was stupid.
Fast forward 6 months, I was tired of feeling uncomfortable in my own skin. I was tired of being tired and overweight. I joined a boot camp and after 6 months, I still wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. I decided to try CrossFit again. This time I enrolled into WORFit. Although it was a great class, I was still unsure how I felt about CrossFit. At the end of the program, LaMonte asked me about signing up for regular classes. I was hesitant, but he offered me a free t-shirt. Who can pass up a free t-shirt, right?
My proudest moment is a collection of moments over the last year and a half. I am proud of who I have become. I am healthier, stronger and have more self confidence. I’m proud that I can do a real burpee. I’m proud that I can do a real push up. I’m proud I can push myself to do things I didn’t know were physically possible.
My funniest WOR story (and most painful) is being clumsy enough to sprain my ankle while running…not just once, but twice in three months.
